Northern California is known for wine, and when you think wine and California, your first thoughts might be of Napa Valley, Sonoma or even the explosion of the Paso Robles region on the Central Coast!
That said, those in the know (US) predict that in 20 years or less, the next California Hot Spot for wine lovers will be the region just off Highway 50 in, and south of Placerville, California known as El Dorado County. Lodi, famously known for world class Zins lies just south of here.
While only 25 wineries actually participated in the El Dorado Passport Weekend(s), there are many more in various levels of production to be found and loved in the area.
